画面の中央に堂々と構成された狐が描かれている。右を向き佇む姿、その鋭い眼差しは何を見つめているのか――鑑賞者に想像を促す余白がこの作品にはある。

毛並みや髭は、地肌を薄塗りで描いた上に、墨で一本一本繊細に、かつ緊張感をもって線を重ねることで柔らかさが表現されている。特に尾は白を基調に細かな線で構成され、豊かな質感を漂わせる。さらに、耳の影には淡い青を用いることで、表現の奥行きと色彩の豊かさが感じ取れる。

竹内浩一の動物画は、緻密な技法に裏付けられながらも、狐の凛とした存在感を的確にとらえ、絵具によってその生命感を鮮やかに表現している点に見どころがある。

Kōichi Takeuchi ”The Fox”
At the center of the composition stands a fox, depicted with dignified presence. Its posture, facing to the right, and its piercing gaze invite viewers to imagine what lies beyond its sight.

The fur and whiskers are delicately rendered: over a thinly painted ground, fine ink lines are layered one by one with precision and tension, capturing a sense of softness. The tail, built up with fine white strokes, conveys a rich texture, while the subtle use of pale blue in the shaded areas of the ears adds depth and expressive richness.

Takeuchi’s animal paintings are notable not only for their refined technique, but also for his keen observation and expressive power, which here vividly convey the fox’s dignified presence and living spirit.
