Message from the CEO - Kosho Nimura

Shoutou Co., Ltd. was founded in July 2025 as a company specializing in modern Japanese and Western painting.
The name “Shoutou” refers to the sound of wind passing through pine needles, resonating like ocean waves.
We believe that this sensitivity—perceiving what cannot be seen and imagining another world beyond it—is at the very heart of Japanese culture and the foundation of art.

At Shoutou, we uphold the philosophy of being a sympathetic art merchant. Our role is not merely to “sell” artworks, but to share new ways of appreciating them, offering discoveries that enrich our clients’ lives. By conveying the backgrounds of works and the intentions of their creators, we provide a place where art fosters emotional connection and a sense of fulfillment.

In particular, Shoutou often introduces large-scale works. We believe that the fullest expression of an artist’s vision, skill, and aesthetic power can often be found in such grand compositions. The presence of a large work when displayed in a space is unmatched, and we hope you will experience this unique sense of impact.

Our CEO, Kosho Nimura, has cultivated over a decade of experience in the art trade, handling numerous works along the way. Throughout this journey, he has consistently shared the joy of art with clients through the works themselves.

In recent years, public interest in art has been growing. However, the ways of appreciating and purchasing artworks are still not widely known, and many continue to perceive them as inaccessible. At Shoutou, we address this by relying on a trusted sourcing network, ensuring authenticity, and presenting works that convey the very essence of the artists.

Each artwork page includes personal reflections written by the director himself. These are not simply explanations, but impressions and emotions that arise from standing before the work. We hope that visitors will resonate with these expressions, discover new insights, and experience the joy of displaying art—bringing with it a richness that becomes part of everyday life.
